Before I left town for a few weeks I photographed Brandy Aniston in her Manhattan hotel room. Our plan was mostly to take topless photos in Times Square for the public nudity zine I am working. The zine is going to be mostly 35mm so I just wanted to shoot film in Times Square, but I had been trying to shoot Brandy for years so I wanted to get some digital shots too. We only had about 10 minutes to shoot in her room because I had plans right after so we just banged it out real quick.

I posted the full set, including some extra porny images on Girls Of Driven By Boredom before I left town but I had this set all ready to go so I figured I would get it up now. It’s a pretty small set and clearly very rushed, but Brandy is really cool looking so I think you are gonna be glad it exists. Like she’s so porno looking which isn’t normally my thing but there is something about her that makes you just wanna do terrible shit to her but like also go hang out with her at a dive bar afterwards. Maybe it’s just the tattoos and I am that predictable. Who knows but I am glad I finally got to shoot her and hopefully I will get more than 15 minutes next time.

My Gathering of the Juggalos trip directly into vacation was supposed to be over already but my parents are retiring and just sold their home so I ended up taking an extra day and a half to help them with everything. Part of it was just wanting to spend an extra night in my childhood home before some strangers are living in it even though my parents gave my bed away already. But I will be back in NYC tonight and back to work. I got a lot of shit to do and a lot of projects to work on. I have stuff I am working on for September, November, December and January so it should be an exciting couple of months unless I run out of money and have to get a real job.

Hopefully you remember Mike Busey and his Busey Beauties from last year. If not him or his girls you certainly remember Big LA the giant stomached man who went viral after grinding on girls with his gut. They aren’t exactly juggalos but they put on crazy shows and give juggalos lap dances if you buy a t-shirt so juggalos (and photographers love them).

I ran into them when I was shooting Ho99o9 and I saw them getting on the Tilt-A-Whirl. I jumped on it too and took photos of them (which was really difficult) while riding the ride. After that Mike told me he had become a fan of my photography since I got him in Rolling Stone last year and we immediately set up a shot of him and his girls in a port-a-potty. Good times.

His crew is so photogenic I actually had to make an effort not to just spend all my time hanging out with them. As a photographer it’s hard not to want to photograph them and as a scumbag it’s hard not to flirt with half naked fire breathing strippers. I think I managed to do an okay job shooting other things, but I do have an odd number of people in my phone with the last name Busey now.

Also I should mention that Vine star Charlie Classic was there as well. I don’t know fucking anything about Vine since they stopped allowing nudity and I got kicked myself kicked off with a naked Vine titled “Fuck your terms of service”. That being said I had a couple of my Instagram & Twitter followers tell me I should go meet him. Seems like a good dude and also kinda a scumbag which means I like him even more.

Every year I come back from the Gathering of the Juggalos with a massive amount of naked photos of juggalettes and do a naked juggalette or juggallette porn gallery or whatever it is. This year things were a bit more sparse. Not sure if it was just me slacking on the nudity (I can only photograph so many boobs…) or the new wave of juggalo feminism or what but my naked juggalette gallery is pretty sparse this year. It’s about 25 images and not all of them are actually naked (or juggalettes).

If I were you I wouldn’t stress it too much though, because when I post a the Busey’s Beauties gallery you will get all the nudity you can deal with.  Actually I am gonna combine this gallery and the Busey’s Beauties gallery into one extra naked gallery and post the high res images to Girls Of Driven By Boredom right now.

This post was supposed to be up days ago but my site got hacked and was screwed up until today. Thank you so much to my amazing web guy Thadd Williams for getting my site running again. Now on to the post!

I go through phases when shooting film and when I got back 23 rolls from my photo lab the other day I decided I hate looking at the color snap shots I usually love so much. I’m not sure what it is but they just didn’t look like I want them to. Because of the view finder and the wide lens I found myself cropping in post way more than normal and it’s bugging me in a way that shooting snap shot 35mm has since I got my first Ricoh GR1 several years ago.

On the other side of that I also shot a bunch of 35mm black & white and I was really happy with that stuff. I had the b&w in my old Nikon SLR which I don’t really love. It was the first camera I bought with my own money after a summer job working in a photo lab. I still prefer the old Pentax that I learned to shoot on in high school but the light meeter is broken and the shutter fails sometimes so it’s more trouble than it’s worth.

When I got the film back the black and white really made me want to shoot more black and white. Not sure why that is since I normally think people shoot black and white because of some silly longing for the past or because they aren’t good enough to shoot color. Digital black and white still looks terrible and it drives me nuts when people convert their digital to hide the terrible lighting.

I shoot black and white because it makes me think about light in a different way and it makes me slow down a lot because I don’t use the auto focus on that camera. When I get the stuff back everyone is so drawn to it and I sometimes think if I just shot black and white film I would probably be way more successful as an “artist” because people are so easily amused by it.

This post is totally long and pointless so let’s just get into it. Here are the results of four or five rolls of film I shot while I was in LA. I like the photos and it makes me want to shoot more black and white. I think I might do a black and white zine soon. This gallery has a lot of stuff in it so here’s the quick run down of the highlights.

I shot the following porn babes: Ava Dalush, Jade Nile (and her boyfriend), Chanel Preston, Aria Alexander, January Seraph, and Carter Cruise. I also shot photos of Ivy Diamond, Malice McMunn, Alanna Pearl, my friends Kristen, Samm & Juanito Blanco. I also spent a day hanging out in Malibu with Eddy Segal, Nate Turbow, Dan Keyes and Dan’s real pretty girlfriend Lexi. I think that’s about it.

I am home after two weeks away so let’s do a second straight contentless post featuring another video that I had nothing to do with. Really I just wanna update you on some stuff and try and hit you up for some cash cause that’s how I manage to pay my rent which is coincidentally due today. Let’s go.

So yeah, I am back which means I gotta deal with an unreasonable amount of shit I ignored for the last two weeks. That includes a few hundred unread emails and some real fun stuff like trying to fix/ buy a new air conditioner. Party forever. Long story short is that I probably will spend the next three days in front of my computer screen in a slightly too hot living room/ office. Once again, party forever.

So while all this really fun stuff is happening I wanted to hit you guys with some photos from my trip. I have a full exclusive set of Raven Rockette that I uploaded to Girls of Driven By Boredom. Raven is one of my favorite models and so fucking hot. I shot her on top of the Superchief LA roof once and we also shot one of my favorite sets of all time at an abandoned waterpark. When I was in LA we were supposed to shoot on the last night I was in town but we had to deal with an insanely drunk girl neither of us had ever met before and by the time we started shooting it was 2am and Raven was super tired and fairly stoned. So instead of taking good photos Raven just showed me her apartment and we spent about 15 minutes shooting photos of her hanging out on her bed naked. The photos aren’t very good, but they are really fucking hot and amateurish looking which is extra hot. So instead of posting them on my site I decided to post them all on the Girls of DBB

Now that that’s settled DBB Etsy. I shot The Extra Ones I Shot Before I Left… while I was in LA and it costs about $300 to develop and scan them all so go buy some stuff cause I don’t really make any money off my analog work so if you like all the film stuff I put on DBB Tumblr you should go buy a zine or something.

Also in my Etsy store I now have a cheap option as far as buying Instant film for me. For $20 you can now get a random nude Polaroid from me. Actually, you could get a non nude one too, but come on. Lastly let’s promote some shit I have nothing to do with. The first feature length movie Benjamin Moses Smith edited is Two Step On iTunes. It’s called Two Step and it’s an insane thriller that I really think is going to go down as a classic cult film. It’s honestly fucking amazing and I am only being slightly biased. If you like really fucked up movies, you need to watch Two Step. It’s also way better than the trailer.

I saw Ho99o9 last night and it was awesome. Now let me make this shit about me real quick.

I don’t really like photographing bands. I did almost nothing else for the first decade of my photo life and I just got sick of it. Most bands are easy to shoot and with the “three songs; no flash” rules that most medium sized and up clubs have everyone’s photos look exactly the same. Added to that is the fact that everyone is a photographer now since digital photography is easy and cheap so you have the same photo taken by twenty people every single night. Who gives a shit?

So when a band like Ho99o9 comes along I get excited. Here’s a band that is both fun to photograph, fun to listen to and is also relevant so people actually want to take 11 seconds out of their lives to look at the photos. I fucking love Ho99o9 and shooting them is challenging and really god damn fun.

When I found out their record release party was the day after I landed in LA I was fucking stoked. So last night I went to the Mystery Box, pushed my way to the front and started taking photos in the middle of the pit. Unfortunately I am not the only photographer psyched to shoot Ho99o9 and there were as many photographers at the front of the stage as their were people. I took about 10 shots, 8 of which were blocked by lenses and flashes and iPhones and I gave up and just jumped in the pit to have fun. Of course I still had my camera on me and I went down pretty quick.

I ended up subluxating my shoulder because I was trying to help this guy not get trampled while also being on the ground and also holding my camera in the air so it didn’t break. It felt like my arm had been ripped off and I thought I was done for the night. Fortunately after a few minutes I could lift my camera again and I said fuck it and went back in. I didn’t want my night to consist of a handful of mediocre photos. So I went back in.

By this time most of the photographers had cleared out of the front and were either gone or on the stage. At one point Eaddy was on the ground on the stage singing and the photographers surrounded him and started taking photos inches from him. This shit drives me nuts, especially with the video guys who just hold their camera’s right in front of the bands face ruining the show for everyone.

I took a photo of them all and Tweeted it with some angry caption. I invited Hannibal Buress to the show last night and when he saw my photo he retweeted it to his 500k followers and I got to spend the next hour editing images while arguing with strangers on the internet.

I just wanted to go on this rant because photographers need to check themselves a bit. When shooting live bands or news or events or pretty much anything outside of the studio we have to make choices. Should we try and get the best shot possible or do we need to get out of the fucking way and let shit happen. I don’t think I took the best photos last night and I am sure if I got on the stage it would have been easier to shoot. If I spent the whole show holding my camera two feet above my head I might have got a few nice shots I wouldn’t have had normally. But a show isn’t about the photographers, it’s about the band and the fans. I just think we sometimes need to compromise between getting the shot and getting in people’s way. Sometimes you take the shot at all cost, but if you spend the whole show doing that you are gonna make it shitty for everyone else.

So last night I sublimated my shoulder, bent my knee the wrong way on the stage, got covered with beer and sweat and got fucking birthday cake all over my camera. On top of everything else I didn’t even take any photos I was exceptionally proud of, but you know what? I had fucking fun and I think if nothing else I captured the energy of what was a fucking awesome show.

Fuck it, I am glad Ho99o9 exist and I am glad people want to take their photo. I would rather 20 photographers shoot them than 99% of every other boring fucking band that stands around looking at their guitar pedals. So I am gonna end this rant and try and hang out with some babes cause I am in LA and mostly on vacation.

I actually met her the day or two before the awards at a party around 5am where she was hanging out with my old pal Veruca James. I am on 90 minutes of sleep because my air conditioner broke and the combination of heat and construction outside has made any thought of sleep impossible. Oh, maybe I should mention that she had her make up done for the AVN Awards but that’s not her normal look so I hope I get to get to shoot her again without all the make up. As a rule I like shooting people the way they like to look so if the model doesn’t wear a ton of make up I would much prefer to shoot her like that. None of this is important. I am very tired.

Several years ago I somehow started talking to a cam girl named Lucy Everleigh on Twitter. She was unreasonably hot and I immediately told her that I needed to take her photo. I showed up the next day and the light was god awful in her room but we took a few photos on the bed before kinda giving up and I broke out my flash and she took a bath. You can make flash look pretty awesome when it hits water and Lucy is so fucking hot that I didn’t mind not shooting with found light.

The crazy thing was that some point during the day I found out she had never done a real photoshoot before. I mean she has taken a million naked photos of her self and I am pretty sure her husband has shot photos of her and things like that but as far as working with a pro photographer this was her first ever shoot. I was pretty fucking honored.

After she got out of the bath we took some more shots on the bed that were a lot more explicit than any of the shower ones because Lucy is fucking hot and it was fun. No, this post has nothing to do with sexy cats. It has to do with the super babely and possibly poorly named model Kitty Erotica.
