Hey.  I am shooting this party in Williamsburg tonight.  Come out and say hello.

Teddy Blanks might be the best front man I have ever seen and I am going to get to see Teddy Blanks do a solo set for the first time ever. I posted a flyer for his first show, but I was in LA. Tonight he is going to be in Greenpoint at CoCo 66 at nine tonight. My guess is he will play between nine and ten thirty but I really don’t know. The show is $7 and I don’t have a list or anything, but you guys should really come. It might change your life a little bit. He will be singing to video/music tracks that he plays out of an old television set or something nuts like that. I have heard about it, but I am excited to see it live. Evidently his first show went really well, probably because so many of you guys made it out right? Come hang out tonight, my parents are in town, maybe they will be there… I will introduce you.

Anyway, I hear Patrick Cleandenim is really good, but I can’t vouch for anyone else on the bill and rumor has it that Teddy WILL be doing a Michael Jackson cover… Get fucking excited.

I am back in NYC and the first thing I am doing is shooting Katie DiCicco’s new video premire party at Santos Party House on Thursday.  It starts early at 7pm and ends by 10:30 so we can get there and then go do something else crazy after.  Should be a fun time.  There are a number of performances including Jasmine Solono who I have seen like 3 times now and impresses me consistently.   Plus Dances With White Girls will be there spinning and there is a pretty hilarious video flyer for it.  Check that out, and I will see you tomorrow.

I just booked a ticket home.  I will be back Wednesday AM.  Get excited NYC.  Unfortunately this means I won’t be back for Teddy Blanks first solo show.  He is part of the Northside festival.  He had a show set up Sunday night, but it got moved around a bit.  So now, he is still playing Sunday, but at a different spot, with different bands and a new time (9PM @ Public Assembly).  He sent me a new flyer… It is pretty amazing.

I am shooting the book release party for Andrea Grant’s book The Pin Up Poet tomorrow night at Le Passion Rouge. A lot o f people are coming out it should be a good time. It is just from 7-10 so come out early. Click here for more details. See you tomorrow!  Oh yeah… We have Dance Class after.

I looked everywhere for a picture of me in a party hat.  That photo just does not exist.  I thought about writing a post about the crazy things that have happened to me the last few birthday’s I have had, but most of them involve me falling down a lot and making out with strange ladies.  I had a pretty great dance party in the street for my 26th and got kicked out of bars on my 23rd and 24th.  I got the hell beat out of me on my 22nd which was the only birthday since my 20th that I have spent sober.  You see the first time I ever drank in my life was my 21st birthday.  I had 13 shots of Markers Mark and while I did cry at some point, I didn’t puke, pass out or get hung over.  Since then, I have gotten destroyed every birthday and New Years Eve since (except for my 22nd).  Other than that I don’t drink at all.  So… the point being I am going to be drinking tomorrow and you should come hang out with me. If you are a cute lady, please come make out with me, if only for a second, as it is tradition. This is also going to be the first time I have photographed my own birthday, so hopefully I won’t break my camera.  I think I am going to bring out my back up… So please come to Trash tomorrow at Webster Hall. Mention this site for reduced ($5) admission at The Studio entrance. There is a 50% chance I will be wearing a wet suit and a 17% chance I will shave my head or something stupid like that. Fun times.

Now I can’t stand the Smiths or Morrssey, but I am a big fan of Trash, The Music Slut and Teddy Blanks…

The Music Slut is teaming up with DJ Jess to throw a big 50th birthday party for Morrissey at Trash this Friday. Teddy Blanks, although not a huge Moz fan will be playing 2 Smiths’ songs and a Morrissey song to celebrate. It is the first time Teddy has been on stage in over a year and it is not to be missed. He plays early, like 11pm early, so get there before you normally would. I don’t have an official guest list, but if anyone is 100% going to come, let me know and I will make sure you don’t have to pay some how. Also, as per normal, Trash is reduced if you mention Driven By Boredom at the door.
