The Gaskets are about to do a bunch of stuff all at once. They are now playing with 3 other band members. They are a real band now. They have 4 CMJ shows, which I will let you know about soon. (R Bar on Oct 17th is confirmed) They are possibly releasing a live album if we can get copies of the tracks by CMJ. And director Lena Dunham is directing 6 or 7 music videos for an old remix album that we never released because the record company who said they would release it is shady. The other day I posted Gaskets footage from a practice they had in a barn before their show at SXSW two years ago.  Well here is some footage from that show mixed in with footage from the practice again.  The audio is a little weird, but what are you going to do.  At least it is something new from them.

I found this tape of The Gaskets practicing for a SXSW show in my brothers garage.  There were a few people over and some guys from their label wanted to tape some of it for a little movie thing they were making.  They gave me some of the footage.  This is only one camera angle, and not the camera with the good sound… so it is very random taping and the sound sucks, but still… This is them covering Set On You by George Harrison.  I dig the cover even if the video sort of sucks.  Let me know what you think.

Last night I went to the premier of Nerve.com’s new web series Tight Shots. It was pretty great. The Gaskets do all the music for the show and my little brother has a cameo in one of the later episodes, although he says nothing. It is very funny and I think it gets better as it goes on. I took like 5 photos at the after party and they are here. You should watch the first episode below and then check the site out every week for more.

The Gaskets are in Blender Magazine this month. There is like a Verizon Wireless add that relives SXSW at the Blender Bar. The Gaskets played said bar at SXSW, so they were in said add. So as I mentioned before, I produced this film Loose Change Live.  For it, I started DBB Productions and I had to make a logo.  My friend Adam did my logo and my friend Grier animated it for me and the Gaskets did the music.  I upped it on YouTube yesterday, it is pretty amazing.  Very 80’s VHS.
