This video is pretty great. It just affirms something I learned years ago by telling people I was the manager of a band. Usually it was true, but I have snuck into countless shows and movies basically by acting like I belong. I have found that it is pretty easy to get in anywhere if I am holding my camera above my head and acting annoyed.

At SXSW this year I couldn’t get into the Blender party despite being pretty much a guest of honor the year before. I decided to try the VIP entrance and as my friends and I walked up with authority they simply lifted the rope and let us in. It ended up not even being an entrance to the party, but just a VIP lounge full of all the DJ’s and performers from some SPIN party. It was slightly awkward since it was such a small room and we didn’t know anyone. But we did get free food, and at least Kid Sister was really nice.

My friend Ross used to sneak into everything with a VIP badge he had from a show he played years ago. He once walked into a 311 show that was going on a few blocks from his house. He used to love them as a kid so he tried to sneak in. He grabbed the badge and walked inside. After a while hanging out backstage a security guy grabbed the pass, looked at it and said “Where did you get this?” He replied “Amy gave it to me.” The guy left him alone. A bit later, 311’s manager came up to him and tried to kick him out. He said “But Amy gave me this pass!” The manager did not buy it, but thought it was hilarious and let him stay, but he did kick him out of the backstage area.

Anyway, watch this video, it is great. You can get into any club using a DJ bag and head phones. But you don’t have to Sneak into Rebel tomorrow (Saturday) for the PopOff party. You just have to say “I am on Igor’s list” and they will let you in and I will actually get paid for hosting, which I sort of hate doing. Okay, bye.

I have not left town without a real purpose since I moved to NYC two years ago. I am always working with a band or taking pictures of something. Well I am leaving my camera (at least my digital one) and computer (okay, maybe not my computer…) at home and going fishing with 3 of my friends that I have known for nearly two decades. I met them all in 1991 in the same 5th grade class and amazingly we are still friends. Our fishing trip should be sweet, and I am not going to do anything else but relax. So, since it is still Not Safe For Work Week, but I am out of pictures from the Hot Movies party, you are going to get one special celebrity nudity update tomorrow that I have already planned out and then I am out of service until Tuesday.

You may have noticed I have not posted many photos recently. I took a break last week and this week I have gone out, but haven’t shot a lot. This is due to the fact that my camera is fucked, and using my old one is too hard of a step backwards, it feels really uncomfortable. I also have been trying to go home earlier and get a bit more sleep so I don’t get so worn out. I am taking an actual vacation next week. I am going to leave town and not do anything. No photos, no website, no work, nothing. It will only be for four days but I am going fishing and it is going to fucking rule. Hopefully when I get back from that I will be in full force again. In the mean time, I will still be shooting. I am going to Philly for some insane porn thing tomorrow so expect to see photos from that Sunday.

Anyway, the point is, to hold you over, I am looking for some original content. I found this old video I shot of some grits wrestling. Every year at the Meridian Coffeehouse in Williamsburg, VA (Not Brooklyn) they hold Grits Wrestling. At least they did when my friends went to school there. It has been years since I have been there or seen any of these people. I think this was shot in 2004 or something. Maybe 2003. The teams are my friends Judge and Nathan aka Team Slayer against team Stairway To Freebird featuring Maria and some girl who’s name I don’t know. It is a pretty exciting match and you can see Maria’s ass a lot, but it is mostly safe for work. Enjoy?

The Fall Guy is now online for Free! This was my FAVORITE show when I was a kid, and probably the greatest TV theme song. It was the only song Lee Majors ever recorded, but if I had my way he would be releasing album after album. I haven’t watched one of these episodes yet, so I am not sure if it lives up to expectations, but I will tell you this, if I had to choose between Bo Duke and Colt Seavers, I am picking Colt every time. From the Hulu synopsis:

Colt Seavers is a Hollywood stuntman by trade… but work in Hollywood is sometimes hard to come by. Fortunately, Colt’s other job is as a bounty hunter – and there’s never any shortage of bail-jumping bad guys to hunt down. Of course. This makes total sense and is amazing. God damn I loved TV. Anyway, Hulu is pretty amazing. They have tons of Simpsons and Family Guy Episodes, Colbert and the Daily, and tons of movies. They just released Hoop Dreams which is probably the best sports documentary ever made. Get on it.

I have never really been scared of movies in my life. I like a lot of horror films, but usually the ones I like are just really creepy or gory, I am never really scared by them. I remember when I realized this. I had just watched The Blair Witch Project on it’s first run. I am not sure if you remember, but before it became a big hit, it played only in a few cities. I think it was only playing in one theater in the DC area and I had to drive quite a ways to see it. At that time people were saying that it was real. Of course by the end, it was pretty clear that it was fake, but going in I thought I was watching some sort of documentary or something. By the end of the movie all my friends I went with were freaked out, and I wasn’t. I just kept thinking, “The worst thing that is going to happen is that they are going to die.” I sort of realized then I don’t fear death. This of course is bullshit, I just don’t fear theatrical death. I am sure that put in an actual life or death situation I would pee myself. So anyway I started thinking back to the movies in my life that did scare me and I came up with three. Keep reading to find out which.

Vacation is going okay.  I haven’t seen anyone in three days, and I have gotten a very minimal amount of work done, but I have been waking up early in the morning and I have been getting a reasonable amount of sleep.  I cleaned my room a bit and submitted some photos to a web project.  Still, I have really have not accomplished much.  I think that if I can keep this waking up early thing going on, I will have no choice but to get some shit done this weekend.  Tonight I am going out, hopefully I will see you guys at Rebel as I need a little bit of adventure.  Then it is back to solitude through the weekend.  Anyway, I keep watching this video of Burt and Ernie rapping to M.O.P. so I guess you should probably watch it too… at least once.   Ante up motherfucker.

I dreamed over and over again that when Giraffe’s were born they were almost humans and then as they got older their necks get longer and they slowly become giraffes.  But when they are first born you can teach them english and hang out with them and stuff.  In the dream I knew this was not the case and I kept waking up realizing that this was not true, but then I would go back to sleep and people would assure me that this was true and kept introducing me to giraffemen who I would talk to.  Once they became giraffes they lost the ability to speak.  After broing down with one of these giraffes it made me not want to kill animals for food, which I was really pissed off about because of how much I like meat.  Luckily when I woke up, it was early in the morning and McDonalds was still serving breakfast so I got acouple bacon egg and cheese biscuits and a sausage McGriddle and everything was okay.

So here is actual proof that when giraffe’s are born they don’t look like people.  They mostly just look like a mixture of baby Alien’s mixed with regular giraffes.  Still, pretty spooky.

After my spell of exhaustion or whatever, I spent most of today asleep. This was not the plan, I had things to do. But I didn’t get out of my house until 5PM and then I was up until 8 and I took a nap and woke up at 1130PM. So, now I am pretty sure I will be up all night, but at least I will be able to get some shit done. Anyway, I start my week break from partying and girls and any sort of social life today. I will be spending every night, save Wednesday, working on getting my life together. Working on my Polaroid book, cleaning my apartment, working on the next version of this website, getting a portfolio together etc. I need to get some regular photo work so I can quit my day job. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Anyway, I would NEVER post something like what I am about to post, but it has to be done. I am allergic to cats and I have never been a fan of such things as this, but it just has to be done. This is the best funny cats video I have ever seen, so rejoice in its cuteness. Embrace the fluff. I love you all.
