This has been one of my weirder South By Southwest experiences. After 14 of these things in a row I am very used to working 20 hour days and not sleeping for a week straight and shooting thousands of images a day. This year? Not so much.

I have a few jobs this week but mostly I have been just hanging out, seeing friends and eating food. I was pretty upset when the jobs I thought I had lined up fell through (especially because I didn’t bother to get a press pass or RSVP for anything) but honestly it’s been a lot of fun and super stress free which is not something I ever thought I would say about SXSW.

I even had time to do this update while I am in Austin, so let’s catch you guys up…

On Tuesday I did my first ever shoot Playboy which was kinda great. I’ve wanted to shoot for Playboy forever so it was kinda a dream come true. In my high school year book they did one of those “In 20 years…” things and mine was “Playboy photographer” which I beat by a few years but shout out to whoever on the yearbook staff came up with that.

On Wednesday I went down to Fader Fort with my Playboy editor and she interviewed Playboi Carti because how could she not and we did a thing for Playboy’s social with Lil Yachty. I shot photos for that stuff and shot them performing live as well. I will get that stuff up later.

Anyway, on Wednesday night I hit the IHeartComix showcase at Clearport ATX because my friends and current favorite live band Ho99o9 were playing. They are one of the most insane bands around and they have a new album dropping soon so I had to go hang and shoot them. When I got to the party Sad13 were playing and I got a few shots of them.

Pomo was next and they played super smooth dance music. I dug it but I couldn’t imagine what people were going to think of Ho99o9 after grooving to Pomo. Sweater Beats was DJing after them so it was a really weird idea to put an insane punk band in between that stuff but shout out to Franki Chan for booking it. I love shows like that.

When Ho99o9 got on the place exploded. A mosh pit broke out even before they started playing. It was fucking wonderful and it lasted for all of two songs before a fight broke out and a bunch of kids rushed past the bouncers working the door and suddenly it was complete chaos. The club had no idea how to deal with any of it so they just cut the music as club security dealt with a mosh pit like people were rioting.

So the show got shut down after 5 amazing minutes and when we got out side kids just started tearing down all the Ho99o9 posters and took them all home before the cops even  showed up. Good times.

I didn’t shoot a ton of photos because I was mostly there to see Ho99o9 and they only played for a second, but the photos are probably worth looking at anyway. I mean if you read this far down the page you probably care enough to spend a few more minutes looking at 30 photos right?

Headed back to my 14th straight South By Southwest in Austin, TX this week. I wasn’t even going to do an update about it because I ran out of time and I don’t have any actual content to share with you or anything but my flight got delayed and I missed my connecting flight and now I am bored in the Delta Sky Lounge and it seemed like a good time to update you guys on some random stuff.

Firstly if you want to follow my SXSW trip check out my Tumblr, Twitter and Instagram. Should be updating all that stuff. Snapchat too. My name is predictably “drivenbyboredom” on all of them.

Next up I figured I would update you guys on my Instaxxx book. After raising $20k on Kickstarter I have quickly found out that’s not really enough money to do a hardcover book. My first estimate came back at $22k. $20k after fees and taxes and shipping costs and film costs is suddenly like $10k. Not ideal. So I am going with softcover but it’s gonna be twice the size of my last two books so that should be pretty awesome.

I have pretty much finished shooting for the book and I have scanned all the instant film that I shot. Next up is laying out the book which I will be starting on pretty much as soon as I get back.

Lastly I should mention that I had some stuff fall through at SXSW so I have a bunch of free time if anyone needs a last minute photographer… or perhaps you live in Austin and are a super hot babe and wanna be in my book. Just saying… If either of those things are the case hit me up!

Last night I shot a benefit for Best Friends Animal Society at 8 of Swords Tattoo. They had an art auction to raise money for the animal welfare organization. Best Friends runs a no kill sanctuary in Utah as well as helps find people to foster and adopt rescued animals. If nothing else their website is worth checking out for all the adorable photos & videos.

I was promised puppies and tiny cats if I came to the event but sadly I got there late and the puppy was already gone and the kittens were being taken away right as I got there. It was a nightmare. I only took one photo of a one eyed cat kitty which was cute but I am allergic to cats so I didn’t even get to touch it. Tragedy all around.

What was not tragic was that we raised a ton of money of Best Friends and when I say we I am including myself because my photo of Maven (one of the kittens I rescued) ended up selling for $80 which is twice as much as I sell it for on my internets. Pretty much everything in the auction sold and the few things that didn’t were eventually sold via guilt trip to the assembled crowd.

All and all it was a solid night and I met some cool people and got to hang out with some old friends. I should also mention their was free Sailor Jerry rum because they are my favorite client and I want them to hire me for a party at SXSW next week. Just saying…

Last week my friend and fellow naked lady photographer Ellen Stagg did a book signing for her new book “Dirty Girl Collection” at the Museum of Sex. Ellen asked me to shoot the party and given that I have had a mild crush on her for the decade that I have known her it seemed like I had to come shoot. Plus wherever she goes babes show up and she gave me a copy of her rad book so I as pumped.

The signing was a lot of fun. I ran into a ton of friends and there was a cake made by my pal Ashley Holt who made cupcakes for my Dinner With Igor book release. Clearly she is a big fan of baking for art book parties.

Ellen also had my old friend Penny Wren and another burlesque babe Gigi Bonbon flanking her to help sell books and serve booze which was not the worst thing photographically.

I had a great time with everyone, took some fun photos and came home with a lovely book to add to my absurd photo book collection so all in all it was  great night.

First of all, I am back from my trip to LA. You may have noticed that because I am actually updating. I had this update all ready to go, but yet I couldn’t find 30 minutes to post it while I was in LA. Moving on…

Aneta is a fucking babe. I found her on an almost completely useless website and sent her a message but she didn’t get it because the unnamed site is almost completely useless. However, I did find a link to her Instagram and I followed her and she followed me back and a week later she was getting naked in front of the staff and customers of the Williamsburg Brooklyn salon, Hello Beautiful.

The shoot came about when I had just launched my Instaxxx Kickstarter. The day it launched I reached out to Nakid Magazine and offered them an exclusive instant film shoot in exchange for promoting my Kickstarter. They were all about it, so the next day Aneta and I met up at Hello Beautiful.

I had just shot Hello Beautiful’s owner Rebecca (and her girlfriend) for my Instaxxx project and she told me I could shoot at Hello Beautiful sometime. My thought was I would use it after work but Aneta and I went over there anyway because Rebecca mentioned their was a basement that we could use during business hours.

When we got there Rebecca convinced us that we should just shoot while customers were in the shop. She asked anyone if they minded and they didn’t so we got to work. We shot a ton of Instax and I also shot a handful of digital too because it was such a cool opportunity so I figured I would double down.

The photos ended up on Nakid Magazine a few days later.

Anyway, I uploaded all the digital images to Girls of Driven By Boredom over a week ago because I like to keep content on there fresh all the time so I figured I would throw it up on here too. Honestly the digital stuff was a second thought but I still think they are pretty fun.

And speaking of Girls of DBB and mediocre digital photos I threw up some random digital shots of Stevie Foxx and Cassidy Aka HookerProblemz hanging out in a hotel room doing weird shit mostly involving spitting on each other. I was shooting them for my Instaxxx book too but I figured I should just throw these up on Girls of DBB anyway.

Lastly, I should mention my trip to LA was pretty successful. I think I shot at least a half dozen Instax that will end up in my new book, I played a bunch with the Instax Mini camera which might end up in the introduction of the book and I shot about 10 rolls of 35mm film. On top of that I shot a half dozen digital sets and I think I may have even found a printer for the book so all and all a good trip.

Last week my friend and absurdly awesome artist Buff Monster had his first ever sculpture show at the pop up space 168 Bowery. This was actually the first art show in the space but I sort of have a feeling more people will try and use the spot for art after Buff’s successful show.

Buff made a ton of these little concrete sculptures of his iconic “Mister Melty” ice cream monster and then there was a big one that he told me that he had been working on for over a year. I wanna see the next one made out of bronze.

The show also featured some paintings and free booze from Soto Sake. They weren’t paying me but to be honest I do so much sponsored event branding stuff I feel like I have to mention it anyway.

Really I was just there to hang out and check out Buff’s new work. Ran into a bunch of friends including Ellen Stagg who has a book release that I am shooting in early March, Sucklord who I am hopefully going to be making toys with and Matty (and Alex) from Three Kings who did my Buff Monster tattoo.

Anyway, fun event and glad I finally got the photos up. I gotta leave for LA for a week tomorrow so wanted to make sure I gave you this stuff before I left. Gonna try and get another update ready before I leave so I have something else to post this week but now I gotta scan some more Instax and pack.

Last week I had some art in the third annual Get Summered Valentine’s Day erotic art show. It was at Tender Trap and I sold a photo of Heather Vahn and then it turned out the buyer never came back to pay and so I guess I didn’t actually sell it but the party was fun.

I took my friend Holly Beth who kinda pretended to be my Valentine despite the fact that we weren’t actually on a date but she did let me take a few photos of her topless so that’s important.

Kinda the highlight of this gallery is the pole dancing from “Incredipole” which is kinda an incredipole name for a crew of pole dancers honestly.

Also there was another naked babe at the end who I have no idea who she is but I wanna take more photos of her so if anyone knows her let me know.

This gallery is way late so I am just gonna end this write up here but shout out to everyone who put this on and all my friends in the show, Smurfo, Insuh, Myles & Diana. The ones of Jillian are kinda extra special because I shot them while being filmed by Showtime for their AVN Awards program so you might see one of your Instax on TV if you get one…

Anyway, that’s it I got no more promotion left in me. Just a few hours left and it’s over!

Also, just FYI tomorrow I am in a Valentine’s Day art show called “Dirty” at Tender Trap. It’s the third annual one but the first one I have had art in. I have a photo of Heather Vahn in it and will be taking some photos because I haven’t really shot any parties in a while and why the fuck not? Maybe I can take some dirty photos, make out with a stranger or two and celebrate my new book. Seems like a reasonable way to spend Valentine’s Day right?

Okay! I was waiting on my Vice AVN article to post this because there’s some crossover between this digital stuff and the film stuff I shot for Vice but it still isn’t up and it’s Friday and I wanna give you guys something to look at over the weekend so let’s do this.

I spent most of my time at the Adult Video News Awards in Vegas working on my Instaxxx book (just three days left to back it!) which means I did a TON of really quick photo shoots with girls. These served as excuses to work on other assignments as well like the Vice article I mentioned and this Mass Appeal Magazine article. But while I was doing those shoots I did a bunch of mini-digital shoots too and I packaged them all here in a massive 100 photo gallery of just babes at AVN. Let’s break it down.

I shot like 5 whole photos of Abigail Mac. We mostly worked on Polaroids but she was in my Mass Appeal article too. I took a handful of photos with this really cute cam gill named Stefanie Joy. We were hanging out in my friend’s hotel room and I shot her just sort of chilling. I with Melissa Moore while she was getting ready for a party and I randomly took one photo of her naked in a bathroom. It’s pretty funny so I included it. I tried to shoot a whole set of Bobbi Dylan but we were in a stairwell and we didn’t wanna get caught so we did it too fast. I still got a handful of nice shots, but a lot of slightly out of focus ones and shots of her blinking and stuff. Whoops.

Not sure why I decided this should be a paragraph break but I took a few photos with Ramona Flour in a parking garage at like 3am. I know Ramona because she is in charge of all the Chaturbate cam girls (and guys) so I have run into her at a bunch of events. She is real cool looking so was glad to do a quick thing with her. Blair Williams is one of my favorite people these days and she was really sick at AVN. I traded her some DayQuil in exchange for a quick photo shoot of her laying around her bed dying. I also shot some photos later that night of her getting ready for a party that she was too sick to go to.

For my next random paragraph break I shot Keisha Grey who is like the most attractive human I know. We met one year earlier and we got to shoot again this year. She is an insane person and climbed out onto the side of the Hard Rock completely naked. It was pretty amazing but it was freezing out there so she ran a bath first so when she got back inside she could just jump into it. I took photos of her in there too. Real cute.

Next up I was supposed to shoot Holly Beth but we had no idea where to shoot. Fortunately we ran into Hunny Daniels who said we could shoot in her room if it was okay with her roommates. They were down and three of us went up to her room. On the way we ran into two of Holly’s friends Jasmine Grey and Robin Mae. They wanted to shoot too.  Suddenly we had four naked girls in a room. That’s when Hunny’s roommate Jane showed up with a girl named Kissing High which seems like it might have been a stage name. She had epic boobs though. So I shot all six girls and it was great. I also did a full shoot with Holly as well.

Speaking of full shoots, I did do a few of them while I was in Vegas. I shot Holly like I mentioned and I also shot another cam girl named Moth. Moth is fucking amazing and I decided to post her full set exclusively to Girls of Driven By Boredom. It’s up now and you should check it out! I put a few teasers in this free gallery but you need to see the full Moth set!

Also included in this gallery are teasers from my full shoots with Taurus Angel and Jillian Janson. I shot so many photos of Jillian while we were filming a thing for Showtime’s AVN Awards program. It probably won’t air until the summer or something insane like that so I won’t be posting the photos until then, but I did shoot some Instax which I am sure will be shown on Showtime.
