And Finally, The Juggalos…

It is pretty much time to conclude my Gathering of the Juggalos coverage although I do have some nice portraits of ICP and Twiztid I will be putting up once Camile Dodero’s interviews with them come out in the Village Voice. But in the mean time I want to leave you guys with everything else I haven’t posted so far.  I put up all the bands, the tits, the wild events and the tattoos, but the one thing missing from my coverage of the Gathering of the Juggalos is what makes it more than just a gathering… the juggalos (and juggalettes).

Here are nearly 300 photos of people hanging out and kicking back and enjoying the best weekend of their year. Cave in Rock is Mecca for Juggalos and this is their yearly pilgrimage. I don’t really have anything to say that hasn’t been said but I have a feeling I will be back next year.  Enjoy this massive gallery and let’s have one more Whoop Whoop before we move on…

Whoop Whoop. See you in 2012 ninjas.

Wolfpac At The Gathering Of The Juggalos

In my two years at The Gathering of the Juggalos I have made some friends that exist outside of Juggalo Island and I put Wolfpac in that group.  I first saw Wolfpac in the early 2000’s when I was living in Richmond, VA.  I used to be a pretty big Bloodhound Gang fan and when Daddy Long Legs quit and I heard he started his own band I had to check them out. Pretty much all I remember about the show was that they set a lot of shit on fire and the club filled with the smell of lamp oil and smoke.  I actually have it all on video somewhere…

Fast forward to last year at the Gathering.  The Wolfpac have a booth every year and when I walked up to the booth I saw they had a TV set up and were playing scenes from porn films they made called Girls of Wolfpac. I noticed Jade Joli who I met in a limo in Vegas when she was a Burning Angel.  I also noticed a girl I once had sex with in the Lit Lounge bathroom and a few other girls who have been naked on this website.  As I started talking to the guys I realized we have a ton of mutual friends including my homie Doug Sakmann who you have seen on this site a million times if you have been paying attention. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see their set last year but I did shoot their W Fuck Off Radio events which were wild as hell.

Since last year we have kept in touch a bit online and they have become fans of my website (as all fucked up tattooed girl loving people should) and I even ran into them on a juggalo cruise ship, so when I got to the Gathering this year they were some of the first people I looked for. We hung out a bunch this year and I was totally crushing on one of the strippers they roll with. I shot some W Fuck Off stuff again and I finally got to see their set much to the dismay of my partner in crime Camile Dodero who did not want to be awake for their 5am set time.

Their set did not disapoint with a mixture of fire, strippers and Naughty By Nature covers I came away pretty impressed. They have a whole riot squad of dudes just there to cause rukus, a half dozen rappers and another half dozen strippers who get by Jade Joli as the set goes on. Wolfpac were the only band I shot the entire set of at the Gathering because they played on one of the side stages so I didn’t have to quit after three songs. They also put on one of the wildest shows I have ever seen and I am pretty excited to shoot them again one of these days.

Now I gotta wrap this up but a few quick notes… 1) I was going to get the last of the GOTJ pics up today but I fucked up. The last big update with 300 pictures of random juggalos will be up tomorrow. 2) These photos are very NSFW so you have been warned. Now, let’s get it on.

Legends Of Wrestling

There was only one thing that really disappointed me at the Gathering of the Juggalos and that was Legends of Wrestling night. It seemed like a great idea and as a kid I grew up watching WWF so I figured I would have fun shooting these old dudes going at it again.  Unfortunately the thing started like two hours late and then moved so fucking slowly. I didn’t have a great shot of the ring this year and I really wanted to see Brian Posehn do stand up which I ended up missing all but 5 minutes of. I didn’t even stick it out to see the D-Generation X vs NWO match or the Rowdy Roddy Pipper Vs Terry Funk matches I actually cared about.  What I did see was a bunch of old dudes who had no business wrestling get in the ring and push each other around.  The only highlight of the night was the ECW reunion match where the guys actually wrestled each other.  There was a tense moment when Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka came out because I thought he might die at any second. Fortunately he survived and I eventually gave up.

My photos are pretty boring unless you love wrestling, but you can watch this trailer for the event to psych you up for the pictures.  The whole thing sounds pretty exciting until you actually have to watch Bob Backlund and Ken Patera hug each other for 20 min.

Anyway, just click here if you wanna see all my photos from Legends of Wrestling night at The Gathering of the Juggalos.

The Insane Events Of The Gathering Of The Juggalos

This is probably the craziest post of my Gathering of the Juggalos experience. Yeah the juggalette porn is epic but this post is a combination of several really weird events they have that when joined together Voltrons into a post filled with nudity, fighting, and Michael Jackson.

Last year I broke the events section up into a Juggalette Oil Wrestling section and a Juggalette Wet T Shirt Contest and an epic W Fuck Off post… but this year I tried to shoot a lot less so I wouldn’t have to spend a month uploading GOTJ pictures. So I took it easy, still got a bunch of wild stuff and shoved all of this stuff into one monster sized gallery.

In this gallery you have:

  • Shots from Slick Chix oil wrestling aka fat naked girls covered in oil
  • Pictures W Fuck Off Radio filled strippers and dudes fighting
  • The Juggalette Lingerie Contest which is pretty much just juggalettes dancing on stage
  • And lastly shots from the ICP hosted BBQ where Prince and Michael Jackson impersonators battled

All of it is totally insane and amazingly NSFW.  You need to check out this gallery because it will probably change your life. I mean how much do you want to see Ron Jeremy host a contest where a pregnant juggalette gets naked and uses a tent pole as a stripper pole?

Gathering Of The Juggalos Tattoos

So last year I took so many photos of Insane Clown Posse and Psychopathic Records related tattoos. This year I didn’t really get into documenting that part of the Gathering of the Juggalos. That being said, I did shoot more than 3000 photos so a few of them had to be of tattoos.  So yeah, guess what? You get a juggalo tattoo gallery and there is some pretty wild stuff here. Also I put up a photo of Morgan Lander of Kittie with a Kittie tattoo because I find it kinda hilarious.

That being said if you really want an in depth look at juggalo tattoos, check this post from 2010.

Now, this will probably be my last post until Monday. My grandmother’s funeral is on Sunday in Lancaster, PA. I am heading down there tomorrow to meet up with my family. Not sure when I am getting back but hopefully I can get you the rest of my juggalo stuff early next week.

In the meanwhile, click here to see all the tattoos I photographed at The Gathering of the Juggalos.

Celebrities At The Gathering Of The Juggalos

At times in this post the word “celebrity” may be used a little loosely, but please know that in my mind Jimmy Walker is pretty much as big as they come.

From reading about the Insane Clown Posse and actually talking to them during the Gathering it has become pretty clear to me that one of the reasons ICP throws this huge party every year is so they can see some of their favorite artists and meet some of their childhood heroes. The Gathering of the Juggalos doesn’t make a lot of money for them, if anything at all… they do it so their fans can have a crazy time at least once a year.  But at the same time ICP invites artists that they love even if their fans don’t give a shit.

When Camile Dodero asked ICP who they were excited about they gushed about Paris, a 90’s gansta rapper than 95% of juggalos had never heard of until he did a track with Anybody Killa. You got the feeling ICP just wanted to share the stage with him and maybe show juggalos what Paris was all about.

Anyway, the point is the Gathering is always crawling with weird celebrities you probably forgot existed. Last year it was Gallagher and Todd Bridges.  This year it was Jimmy Walker and Dustin Diamond. Ron Jeremy has been a constant presence both years, bringing willing juggalos back to his trailer. Famous wrestlers from long ago hobble the campgrounds like wounded veterans. X Pac and Razor Ramon spent their days riding in golf carts posing for pictures. Plust the comedy night brought out the hilarious Harland Williams and Brian Posehn.

And then of course their are the musicians.  George Clinton and Ice Cube are as big as they come.  Xzibit was there as a rapper but people I talked to couldn’t name a song by him but knew him from Pimp My Ride. Flavor Flav hosted Sunday night and hyped the crowd like he has been doing for decades. On top of that Psychopathic Records stable of artists featured home grown celebrities like Twiztid, ABK, Boondox and Blaze and of course the newest edition to the Psychopathic family… Vanilla Ice.

But the big story at this years Gathering was of course Charlie Sheen.  Without a doubt the biggest celebrity to ever show his face in Cave In Rock, IL Sheen was the topic of plenty of media both before and after the event. Despite what I have read online about juggalos pelting him with garbage, Sheen was universally loved by juggalos. They throw shit at everyone and unless they are throwing glass, urine or human feces you are doing okay.  Charlie Sheen caught one can of Faygo out of the air to huge applause and another glow stick on his way off stage. It could not have been perfect.  In our interviews with ICP and Twiztid both groups had nothing but good things to say about Sheen and how he went out of his way to talk to them and was cool to everyone back stage.  He even posed for a picture for me when I yelled at him from off stage. He bent down and posed for longer than he should have while I dealt with my malfunctioning Faygo soaked camera. I have always been a Charlie Sheen fan, and recently he obtained hero status and nothing he did at the Gathering changed my mind.

Anyway, I have about 50 shots I dubbed “celebrity” shots and while most of them are just of Charlie Sheen yelling “Whoop whoop winning!” on stage the gallery is still worth checking out.

Juggalette Porn!

One year ago I put up a gallery of nothing but pictures of topless juggalettes from the Gathering of the Juggalos. It was by far the most popular gallery I posted from the Gathering last year. The issue was that I called it “Juggalo Porn”. I just thought that was kinda a funny attention grabbing title. The problem was that people kept giving me shit because they are trying to tell me that female ICP fans are juggalettes not juggalos. And while this is of course true, all ICP fans are juggalos.  So if you are a juggalette you are also a juggalo so like shut the fuck up already.

The important thing is that this is a HUGE gallery of 113 photos of topless and or naked juggalettes. There are some doubles but it is stil a wild collection of juggalette boobs. I mean you have everything from hot girls with amazing boobs to fat stretch marked floppy titties that kinda make you want to cry yourself to sleep and that is just the beauty of it all. At the Gathering no one is judged. Pregnant and just recently pregnant girls can walk around topless without feeling any sort of shame. It is a feminist paradise. There are no eating disorders at the Gathering, just eating…

This gallery is so epic so prepare to be both turned on and horrified at the same time. This is what you all came to see. Prepare yourself for the very NSFW juggalette porn!

Ps. There are 115 photos in this gallery. You have been warned.

The Musical Acts Of The Gathering Of The Juggalos

One thing that may have slipped past you when you were mocking my decision to travel to the Gathering of the Juggalos was that the bill of non clown related acts was absolutely incredible. I hit Lollapalooza the weekend before the Gathering and there were maybe three bands I was mildly exited to see. At the Gathering there were one or two bands every night I was fucking psyched about.

No matter what your beef is with the Insane Clowns you cannot fuck with a bill that includes Ice Cube, Bobby Brown and George Clinton.  Oh, did I mention Lil Jon, Xzibit, Mystikal, Busta Rhymes, Juvenile and Tech N9ne? Wanna go old school? How about MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, E-40, DJ Quik and Paris.  For the rockers you got bands like CKY, Saliva, Kittie and Hed Pe.  Plus about 100 other bands that I have no fucking clue are but I am sure are at the very least entertaining to watch. People kept telling me about a band made up of Kung Fu Vampires. You probably should not fuck with that.

A few notes about the bands before I give you guys the pictures:

  • MC Hammer fucking killed it. Seriously. That guy is probably better now than he ever was and went over so surprisingly well. He had the juggalos eating out of his hand by the second song and he spent most of his set in the crowd with them.
  • Paul Wall never showed and may or may not get murdered via hatchet in the next few weeks. Juvenile walked off the stage after two water bottles came near him. It was really embarrassing. And Busta Rhymes went on two hours late, perhaps due to pineapples, but then redeemed himself by rocking the crowd and seemed genuinely moved by the love the juggalos showed him.
  • The moment I realized I am turning juggalo was when I heard Mystikal walk off stage and tell his boys “That was so fucking fun.” The juggalos threw so much shit at him and I was afraid he was going to pull a Juvenile and walk off but after 6 years in prison I am sure the Gathering was a peice of cake. The dude killed it and walked off part of the “Family” and I felt a lot of pride cause I guess I am part of that family too.
  • Ice Cube opened with two N.W.A. songs and I almost lost it. I could barely take photos while I was screaming the words. It was amazing and that dude is so pro juggalo and said he would keep coming back as long as they would have him.  If it keeps him from doing a sequel to “Are We There Yet” I support it.
  • Wolfpac was the only band I photographed from start to finish. They were on a side stage and had strippers with them. I’ll post those pictures in their own post in a few days.
  • And George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic? Holy shit. Fucking amazing.

Okay, that’s all I got. It’s time to look at fucking pictures.

The Psychopathic Family

Welcome back to The Gathering of the Juggalos! Remember my trip last year? I certainly will never forget it. I posted 21 galleries, did two million page views in a week and was the only photographer to shoot Tila Tequila getting attacked by insane clowns.  It was an exhausting trip that ended up being one of the biggest moments of my career. Of course I had to return for the 12th annual GOTJ and I once again rode shotgun with my juggalo anthropologist companion Village Voice writer Camille Dodero. She wrote this article which changed our lives a little bit and we had to go back to where it all began.

This year I tried to shoot less and take it a bit easier. We got a hotel and I only shot about 3000 photos which I edited down into just over 1000 photos and a scant 9 updates.  So let’s start at the beginning with the end. The last performance of the Gathering was an epic Insane Clown Posse set that ended with what they call the “Faygo Armageddon”.  During ICP’s entire set they pour the off brand soda Faygo on the crowd much to the delight of everyone in the crowd and to the dismay of photographers and bouncers alike. At the end of their set they have hundreds of two liters of Faygo left and they bring out all their friends back stage to shake the Faygo up pour that shit on everything.  Camile and I got to participate and it was easily one of the most fun things I have ever done.  I launched several dozen Faygo bottles into the crowd and got soaked to the bone in diet soda (evidently the sugar in non diet Faygo eats through the stage set). All of the artists on Psychopathic Records were out there with us in full face paint making the whole event one of the most surreal things I have taken part in.

I decided to make my first GOTJ 2011 update a collection of all the shots I took of bands that are on Psychopathic Records.  I figured it would make for a good introduction and let you know what the juggalos are listening to other than ICP. In this gallery you will find shots of ICP and Twiztid as well as the super group they form together, Dark Lotus.  Also we have shots from Anybody Killa (ABK) and Blaze Ya Dead Homie.  I missed the Psychopathic Rydaz and Boondox this year… Also it should be noted that they announced at the Gathering that Vanilla Ice has been signed to Psychopathic.  Seriously, I am not at all kidding. No word on if he will wear face paint or not…

Okay, let’s get on with it… We have 8 more updates to go!
