You may have seen a giant man named Big LA getting a lap dance from a stripper on TMZ or some other terrifying space on the internet recently. That video came from DJ Paul of Da Mafia Six who was selling his BBQ sauce at a booth hosted by Mike Busey. Mike Busey is supposedly the nephew of Gary Busey (and they look identical so it’s probably the case) who runs some sort of insane business where he gets dudes to pay him to come hang out with him at the “Sausage Palace” some sort of low rent version of the Playboy mansion in Orlando that looks like it’s probably a lot more fun than the Playboy mansion. There’s also a touring live show…

Whatever the case he built an open air strip club at the Gathering of the Juggalos and they sold DJ Paul’s sauces and seasonings there and there was a sexy dwarf and this massive dude who has been all over the internet. They also hosted the main stage one night, one of the after parties and were fantastic to photograph. I also got to personally carry a dwarf from the stage to the crowd so she could crowd surf which happened to be #38 on my bucket list. One of the things people seem most interested at the Gathering of the Juggalos is the concept of “juggalo justice”. I remember when I first went to the Gathering 5 years ago I heard they put people in cages if they break juggalo law. Then a few years ago someone was caught stealing and juggalos destroyed his car completely. When my reporter friends talked to the cops this year they told them that “Juggalos have their own court system. They police themselves.” Is juggalo justice a thing?

Kinda. Juggalos are pretty cool to each other, certainly more than at any other festival I’ve been to. One of the food vendors in his 60s told me that it was just like Woodstock. Of course there are a lot of really shitty juggalos there too and if you get caught stealing or something, God help you cause juggalos will fuck your shit up. But the juggalo court system is not a real thing… it’s just something entertaining to do in the middle of the night.

If you go to juggalo night court you can take someone to court and “Judge High Bone” will hear your case and juggalos will vote on who has to spin “the wheel of bone”. If you win you get a free t-shirt. If you lose you get tortured for juggalos amusement. The whole  thing is pretty entertaining, but the cases are rarely actual complaints, just shit made up to get a free t-shirt and see their buddy get fucked with.

One of my favorite moments of Gatherings past was when Wolfpac while hosting Psychopathic Radio had people box blindfolded on roller skates. It seemed like a funny idea, but it wasn’t until two fighters decided to take off the skates, blindfolds and boxing gloves that it got good. I happened to be passing by on a golf cart when I jumped out to photograph the end of the fight. The winner didn’t matter because both fighters brutalized each other and hugged at the end. It was both brutal and inspiring.

Cut to a few years later one of those fighters was back. His name is Nebraska and oddly enough he is from Nebraska. He fought not one, but TWO fighters and beat them both soundly ending the second fight with a knee to the guts that made it pretty much impossible for the other fighter to breathe. Any fighter knows that it’s the gut shot that will put you down before the head shot and Nebraska worked the body after taking several shots to the head.

There was a fight in between featuring a Canadian grappler and a dude who seemed to relish getting punched in the face. It ended after four rounds with the Canuck giving up after realizing he was going to have to murder the other fighter if he wanted to end it. He ended up forfeiting rather than destroying the other dude which I am pretty sure he was capable of. He got made fun of but it was a pretty reasonable move.

Aside from the insanity the Gathering of the Juggalos is at its heart a music festival. In 2012 it was probably one of the best music festivals in the country. Last year they took a step back and stuck mostly with bands that primarily juggalos were into (I am sure their case against the FBI had to do with some of the missing star power) but this year they had some pretty serious headliners.

Cypress Hill and Yelawolf made their first Gathering appearances and Hopsin returned a much bigger star since the last time he played for the juggalos. Da Mafia 6ix returned after a Three Six Mafia appearance in 2012. Tech N9ne played again and even Shock G aka Humpty of Digital Underground played a late night set (which I missed sadly because I had to file by 8am). On the rock side they had Cannibal Corpse and Biohazard which both went over great with juggalos and created some fun mosh pits to photograph.

As far as juggalo bands go, I skipped Dark Lotus, The Psychopathic Rydas, ABK and Blaze because I have photographed them all several times and no one cares about them outside of juggalos and I figured my time was better spent elsewhere. I did however shoot Twiztid and of course ICP. I also shot Big Hoodoo for some reason as well as none Psychopathic Records artists Kottonmouth Kings, Wolfpac & Whitney Peyton. Oh, and I also shot Jellyroll cause that dude is hilarious.

The 15th annual Gathering of the Juggalos took place in Thornville, OH this year. It’s a return to Ohio after years at Cave In Rock in Southern Illinois. This is my 5th Gathering and my first not at the terrifying Cave In Rock. Thornville is very close to Columbus, OH and there were two gas stations within feet of the camp grounds. I stayed in a hotel a quick 10 minute drive away. It certainly took away some of the “holy shit we are in the middle of nowhere” vibe and made it the most media heavy Gathering yet. It did have some advantages and as always I took a million crazy photos but it just wasn’t quite the same.

I covered the Gathering for Voice Media Group and for Rolling Stone. In the past VMG has published cover stories on the Gathering in both the Village Voice and River Front Times. The Voice cover story by Camille Dodero our first year sort of broke this festival to the world and the rest of the media world has jumped on board. I miss the days when there were just a handful of media there but I guess that just means I need to find some other underground shit to exploit right?

In my first of 11 updates from the Gathering of the Juggalos I am going to start with my favorite juggalo portraits. I don’t know why I would put all my favorite images into one update but fuck it, this is the shit I am moderately proud of.  There’s gonna be a lot of updates so I am just gonna leave you to the photos. Hopefully I will have three more for you tomorrow but this is it for today. It’s a pretty good update though I think.

It’s that time of the year again! I am headed to the Gathering of the Juggalos tomorrow! I tend to have very little internet and very little time while I am there so this might be my last post for a few days (but also maybe not – trying to plan a couple updates before I leave town). You can check my Tumblr for daily updates but to hold you over until then I got a good one for you…

Last year I shot the Gathering for Hustler Magazine as a “Girls of the Gathering of the Juggalos” type of feature. I shot nude portraits of a ton of Juggalettes. I had to wait a while before posting them here because they were for the magazine and then I sort of just forgot about them. So other than the Gypsy Ninjette photos I already posted I have a TON of naked juggalette photos to still post from LAST year.

I went through all the girl shoots I have ready to go and I figured out about five or six posts worth of juggalette nudes still waiting to go up. Most of those are girls I did more involved sets with, but I also have a post featuring a bunch of girls that came to the GOTJ with the band Wolfpac. I will get all that stuff up sooner or later.

But for now, I just have everything else. I put together a gallery of a bunch of girls that I did quick shoots with. The shoot includes two girls in face paint, a girl I shot in “Lake Hepatitis”,  a girl who was selling hamburgers topless aka “Tittyburger”, a girl in a port-a-potty, a girl laying on a “Juggabaygo” and other exciting things like that. Plus, if you have the Girls of DBB app there are some extra bonus photos of Gypsy Ninjette and Chelli of Passed out Juggalos fame!

Months ago, when I was at everyone’s favorite summer camp, the Gathering of the Juggalos, I took a lot of photos. Some of those photos happened to be of naked juggalettes. I posted some of them, as per that link, but I also held back on a LOT of them. I pitched the idea to Hustler Magazine of doing “Girls of the Gathering of the Juggalos” photo spread and they were totally into it. I ended up shooting about a dozen girls for it and I haven’t published any of those sets because I was waiting on the issue to come out.

Last week I submitted the final high res images for the issue and it went to print! It will be in the April issue which comes out on January 21st because magazine publishing is insane. Once the issue comes out I will start posting some of those epic juggalette galleries, BUT, my favorite of all those galleries I am going to post now!

My very favorite of the shoots I did was with Gypsy Ninjette. I met her through a few people and she seemed down to shoot, but the Gathering has no phone service and it’s pretty hard to find people so we missed each other a couple times. I ended up taking a few photos of her while she was getting ready one night just in case we missed each other the next day for a real shoot. For some reason Hustler liked those shots more than anything we did during the daylight the next day. Since none of those photos are in the issue I figured I could post it!

I really love these photos. We shot them in and out of her RV in the middle of the afternoon. A bunch of people we watching the whole shoot and several people were actually in the RV. The light is pretty lovely and Gypsy has a really soft pretty face that also happens to have tattoos on it. I think it makes for a really nice contrast. Her super banging body doesn’t help and her ICP neck tattoo is pretty wild. Really this shoot has something for everyone…

Also, just FYI, I put all these pictures on my Girls of Driven By Boredom web app yesterday and they are twice as big so they will look really awesome when you are jerking off on the subway. Plus there is a magical gallery of like 900 naked juggalette photos on my app which you obviously cannot live without.

It what is always the saddest update of the year we must bid farewell to the juggalos. Fortunately this update is action packed with not one, but three galleries of juggalo goodness! I had a few Gathering of the Juggalos galleries that didn’t really justify their own post and I really wanted to move on to some naked porn stars and party pictures so I decided to combine the galleries into one update.

To start with I have photos from the totally insane Juggalo Night Court. Basically what happens is that crowd favorite Upchuck the clown acts as judge and juggalos bring up their complaints about other juggalos. Upchuck then hears their complaints, let’s the plaintiff defend themselves and the crowd votes on who wins. The winner gets a t-shirt. The loser? Well the loser gets fucked. He (or she) has to spin “The Wheel of Bone” to find out what horrible punishment they must suffer. Once they have picked their Bone they get literally tortured to the delight of the juggalos. I saw a guy get covered in honey and then covered in feathers, I saw a guy get dicks drawn all over him with “tattoo markers”, and I saw a guy get pelted with eggs and a giant bucket of Faygo poured on him. I also heard a girl got a paintball to the neck with the wrong C02 canister installed in the paintball gun which almost crushed her throat and killed her. Whoops. Also one of the nights I was there Violent J (out of make up!) was one of the guest judges!

Up next I have a gallery of Kaiju Big Battel madness. I had heard about Kaiju Big Battel for years but had never seen it until the Gathering. Basically giant Japanese monsters fight each other and crush entire cities in their wake… or something like that. Maybe it’s more like really shitty wrestling but in really amazing costumes. I saw a waffle fight a bunch of random monsters and end up victorious. It was pretty delicious. There were also some sort of beans who kicked the shit out of some drug monsters. Really I have no fucking clue what was going on but it was awesome. I would have stuck around much longer but I had some actual work to do, so my monster photography only lasted a couple of rounds. Still, it was pretty hilarious and awesome. You should look at the photos.

Lastly I just have a bunch of shit that didn’t fit any where else. We got some lovely scenic shots, some random signs offering discount handjobs maybe some deadly weapons that got confiscated at the entrance? Which do you like more juggalo teepees or juggalo castles? Whatever the case it is clearly worth looking at. I mean, why not right? This is the last gallery so you just have to look! I mean there’s nothing else to look at! I know, I am as sad as you are. Don’t worry, there is always next year! Whoop Whoop!

So I am still on vacation until tomorrow but I figured I could a little bit of work done. I only have two more Gathering of the Juggalos updates left so I figured I would get this one up today and then we will be done tomorrow and we can get back to normal around here. I love my juggalos but I can’t stop dreaming that I am still at the Gathering so I think I need to get back to tits and NYC party photos or I might lose my mind. I might not get back til NYC until late tomorrow so my last update might actually come on Wednesday, but whatever, we are moving forward soon!

So my second to last update is about  Psychopathic Radio aka W Fuck Off hosted by my scumfuck pals in Wolfpac. Aside from putting on crazy performances as a band, they also do this insane radio show twice a day during the Gathering. It’s pretty much your standard shock jock morning radio program… except that they play mostly Psychopathic Records music and they ruin peoples lives. They make people beat the shit out of each other on stilts, they force people to consume massive amounts of booze until they puke and they make people take shots of 1,000,000 SHU hot sauce. They also have strippers on stage dancing around doing whatever strippers do.

In past years I spent a lot of time hanging out with the Wolfpac crew because their fucked up contests and naked girls make for great photos, but this year I didn’t bring my own car and I was subjected to the whims of my fellow juggalo journalists who were not that interested in getting down to the camp grounds at a reasonable hour. Once I finally got down there every day I had other work to do so I really did’t get much of a chance to photograph Wolfpac’s W Fuck Off show, but when I did I got some good shots like these two dudes beating the shit out of each other. You might recognize the guy in the blue helmet as the dude who got his ass kicked last year. This year he returned with a vengeance and beat the dude in the red helmet pretty severely. Good times.

So yeah long story short there are some crazy photos in this gallery but not as many as in previous years. It’s still properly NSFW and there is some fun stuff but if you want to see more search the archives for Psychopathic Radio. It’s worth a look if you haven’t seen this stuff before. Now, I just have one more GOTJ of the Juggalos update to go and we get back to real life. Whoop whoop!
